THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Downtown @ the Hisam Restaurant Review: Chef Ed Kenney serves high quality eats in the bright, spare setting of the Hawaii State Art Museum. Blond wood accents and contemporary art impart an airy, composed look. Options abound at the counter, but we recommend dining in if you have time---and reservations. The menu is in a constant state of rotation and we suggest dine-in patrons consider the daily specials where you'll invariably find a notable seafood dish. From the counter you can get salad, oversize sandwiches with perhaps a side of fried lotus chips, quiche, soup and generous spoonfuls of a variety of antipasti. Either way, fresh and often organic ingredients satisfy the mid-afternoon void; portions are anything but demure. Don't miss the churros, which you dip in thick Mexican hot chocolate for a sweet finish. |
