E. 48th Street Market Restaurant Review: After you shop, enjoy a glass of wine or a beer with a sandwich, pasta salad, lasagna, polpette or grilled vegetables. There’s authentic Italian pizza, too. Ex-New Yorker Charlie Augello, who dropped out of the corporate world 20-plus years ago, bakes some of the city's best bread, stocks some of the best Italian wines, and offers a standout muffaletta. Cooking at home? Pick up a tiny, aromatic tub of truffle-mushroom paste to daub onto your fresh pasta. Olive oils, cheeses, tomato sauces and deli meats grace the retail side. Desserts range from house-made biscotti and other Italian cookies to cakes --- get a cup of Italian coffee to accompany any of them.
