East by Northeast Restaurant Review: Pan-Asian dishes made with fresh, locally caught fish and seafood are the highlight of chef John Weston’s menu at East by Northeast. Raw plates include sashimi and ceviche as well as traditional raw bar selections, like local oysters and littleneck clams. Panko-crusted seared tuna is intriguing and satisfying, and the trio of seafood with udon noodles can be addictive. Duck tacos are also quite nice for those looking for a more carnivorous choice, and there are steak, chicken and burgers options, too. Desserts are varied and include a crème brûlée sampler and homemade gelato and sorbet. Meals can be enjoyed on the terrace, with views over Montauk's Fort Pond. The bar is famous for its mojito; several other custom cocktails are available, along with a short list of beers and wines by the glass.
