East by Northeast Restaurant Review: Pan-Asian dishes made with fresh, locally caught fish and seafood are the highlight of chef John Weston’s menu. Appetizers include crab cakes with cucumber pickle salad, aïoli and Japanese seasonings, and a “Fire & Ice” lobster tempura with mango mint sauce. Crispy whole fish with Thai herbs is intriguing and satisfying. Those looking for a more carnivorous choice can opt for the ENE burger made with crispy pork belly, soy braised onions and smoked cheddar. Desserts stay in the pan-Asian realm and include apple pie spring rolls and calamansi lime pudding. Meals can be enjoyed on the terrace, with views over Montauk's Fort Pond. The bar is famous for its mojito; several other custom cocktails are available, along with a short list of beers and wines by the glass.
