East by Northeast Restaurant Review: Pan-Asian dishes made with fresh, locally caught fish and seafood are the highlight of chef Jeremy Blutstein’s menu. Appetizers include Montauk oysters with tomatillo chow chow, smoked swordfish dip with Spanish paprika oil, and a few carnivorous options like Long Island duck wings with toasted sesame seeds. Entrées range from pan-roasted fish with herb-roasted sunchokes and butternut squash curry to coriander-seared tuna with fennel sauce and dashi. On the “turf” side of things are a Lancaster organic spicy chicken ramen bowl and acorn-fed heritage pork belly with pomegranate molasses. Vegetarian options include Khmer red vegetable curry. The menu clearly indicates gluten-free and vegan friendly options. In addition to the main menu, a lineup of sushi, sashimi, maki and a few signature rolls is also available. Meals can be enjoyed on the terrace, with views over Montauk's Fort Pond. The bar offers several custom cocktails and a nice variety of saké, not to mention an extensive wine list with old-world and new-world choices.
