Eclectic Wine Bar & Grille Restaurant Review: Originally a café and live music venue that many credit with jump-starting the burgeoning NoHo Arts District, Eclectic Café has evolved into a stylish, full-service restaurant with a menu that offers --- as the name implies --- a little bit of something for everyone. The room, carved into intimate spaces by undulating concrete dividers, sports candlelit tables dramatically decked out in black linen, palm fronds and bold modern and Native American art. Diverse appetizers include Asian pulled pork lettuce cups with sesame-ginger dressing; walnut, spinach and Gruyère-stuffed mushrooms; and pan-fried calamari steak with spicy marinara. A large selection of pastas, burgers and pizzas is available, plus more ambitious fare like New Zealand rack of lamb with a brandy, mustard and tarragon sauce, as well as braised short ribs and grilled ahi with risotto. Dessert includes the likes of chocolate toffee mousse and homemade tiramisu. Wines are sourced from around the world.
