THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Eddie Matney's Epicurean Trio Restaurant Review:

Chef-owner Eddie Matney is the motion machine at this very popular restaurant that sports three distinct areas: a very lively bistro, a more private dining room and the members-only wine-cigar room. He and his spouse, Jennifer, put together an exciting mix of robust flavors at this top corner in Phoenix. Chef Eddie hosts a local TV cooking program. Everybody loves the inventive Matney meatloaf, served with bacon, basil and tomatoes over country mashed potatoes with wild mushroom gravy. He’s also famous for his garlic mashed potato-encased filet mignon, served with Cabernet Sauvignon demi-glace. But at Eddie’s, it’s not all meat and potatoes, as the East Meets West so aptly proves. This dish is a combo plate of sesame-seared ahi over Japanese vegetables and Parmesan-encrusted sea bass over asparagus risotto. For dessert, there’s chocolate chip cookie tiramisu or peanut butter Boston cream pie. Kids (who eat free) are encouraged to head to the dessert station to make their own sundaes. Grownups may choose the bar instead, where appetizers are always half price.
