El Chanate Restaurant Review:

After a day on the hill, relax with a draft beer, margarita, basket of chips and the first-rate roasted pork and posole --- even better when the salsa and fixings are house-made --- at this cool hangout. El Chanate, housed in the basement level of The Cliff Lodge, is one of Snowbird Resort’s few sit-down dining options and the most family-friendly. The well-lit cantina, bedecked with fireside log tables, lends itself to banter and early evening imbibing. Attentive staff is full of local ski-bums who share the same enthusiasm for service as they do for skiing. Trust them when they recommend the satisfying chile rellenos stuffed with spicy chipotle chicken and cheese, or the pork chile Colorado with spicy guajillo sauce. And while some of the other dishes aren't hits --- if the chicken is tough, or you'd prefer your brownie sundae with a warm brownie (or warmed fudge) instead of cold, for example --- don’t be afraid to speak up. This is a restaurant that wants to ensure that diners have a positive experience, and they strive to get it right. For dessert, order the flash-fried flour sopapillas tossed in cinnamon and sugar and served with agave syrup and chocolate sauce for dipping. If you’re not staying at the Cliff, the property has a shuttle to take you back to your car after dinner.
