THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED El Encanto Restaurant Restaurant Review:
This rambling estate, tucked into the rugged hills of the Angeles National Forest, has been drawing loyal patrons for over fifty years. The restaurant boasts comfy leather booths, white linen-covered and candle-lit tables, a massive stone fireplace and pleasant, old-fashioned service. The big draw, however, is the striking views of the San Gabriel Mountains. A secluded patio popular for weddings is set against a dramatic hill forested with towering oaks. Regulars---many celebrating decades of marriage---seem to relish an unsophisticated fare that includes New England clam chowder, rack of lamb with mint jelly, salmon and steaks. Reflecting the demographics of the clientele, this old favorite serves a bargain-priced early bird special. One of El Encantos trademarks is its unique corn fritters in maple syrup, served with every meal.
