THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED El Paseo Restaurant Review:

With its rosy brick walls, warren of intimate dining rooms, fireplaces and a secreted-away outdoor patio, El Paseo is one of Marin’s most romantic restaurants. When rock star Sammy Hagar took over ownership, he revamped, refreshed and made it downright sexy for today’s casual, conscious diners. The menu features dishes made with local, organic and seasonal ingredients as much as possible. It emphasizes everything from American comfort food to classic steakhouse fare. Crab cakes show a hint of New Orleans style in their spicy rémoulade sauce. Hash brown potatoes cooked in duck fat and served in miniature cast iron ramekins may be the best potatoes in Marin. As for the proteins, you can go small and relatively inexpensive, with a plush, house-ground burger of natural beef, or all-out-sumptuous with a 24-ounce free-range rib-eye steak for two, complete with marrow bone. Chairs are so comfortable, and the ambience so cosseting, you might want to settle in for a day or two.
