| Although this shirt-sleeves comfy place has had many local imitators, none have ever really met its degree of gritty buzz. Packed from opening to closing with the hungry, El Pollo Rico is the place to pick up Peruvian roast chicken with your choice of fries or coleslaw, plus drinks and several Latino sweets. Formerly in cramped quarters in a parking lot behind some office buildings, EPR now fits in larger crowds and there are bigger rotisserie ovens to roast many more birds. But don’t head here expecting haute fare: it’s a workmanlike place with absolutely no frills. |
