This diminutive 14-seat Lower East Side spot is more than the name promises. During the day, coffee is poured and light lunches are served from a short compendium of vegetarian-friendly options. The atmosphere is laid back, the staff even offering diners whose parties have not arrived yet to “grab a table,” making it feel like you’re in Manhattan Beach, not Manhattan. Sip a craft beer or a glass of wine from the brief list and munch on satisfying charred radicchio salad, papas bravas (paired with pickled pineapple hot sauce) or flavorful octopus salad.
