This Tunisian-flavored bistro, complete with colorful Moorish-inspired lamps, competes with a handful of ambitious eateries on this block of Orchard Street. But Elyssa Dido has no problem attracting diners. After all, the menu is crammed with creative and inspired dishes. The brik au thon, a phyllo pastry stuffed with tuna, capers, egg and Gruyère, is a surprisingly good starter---especially after cutting into it causing the egg to drool over the plate. The braised lamb tagine is tender and nicely accented with a cinnamon-orange sauce, while the grilled salmon---perhaps the highlight of the menu---is layered on top of Swiss chard and a portobello mushroom; it explodes with flavor, accented by a lemon-saffron sauce. For the non-North African-cuisine eater, there is a bistro menu, with dishes like steak frites and baby lamb chops.
