THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Ember Room Restaurant Review:
Todd English’s umpteenth restaurant, the Ember Room is an ever so slight departure for the expansive chef, as he has brought Thai chef Ian Chalermkittichai into the fold. And it shows with a mostly good barbecue-centric pan-Asian menu and a clubby atmosphere. Asian goulash sliders may sound like a culturally incongruent mishmash, but to the taste buds, they’re dazzling (if a bit messy). Berkshire pork belly was glazed with maple, a very nice addition; and the ultra-tender short ribs are worth coming back for. The bacon-wrapped meatloaf dumpling didn’t fare so well, as its flavor was flaccid upon arrival. There is, as expected, a pricey wine list with several great bottles. And if you have an expense account then, by all means, drink up.
