The health-conscious give executive chef-owner Mark Lusardi thumbs up as he emphasizes local organic produce and naturally raised meat and poultry in his California-inspired Italian cuisine that eschews butter, cream or animal-based products. Emma boasts three dining venues as well as a large private room and a soon-to-come daytime café. Dine at European-like sidewalk tables in-season, at the 50-seat bar area with a separate menu or in the classic and charming dining room. Begin with Lusardi’s specialty, the spicy raw tuna poke or baked gold potato and salt cod brandade with black olive crostini. For your main course, go for Lusardi’s trademarks: grilled rib-eye steak and portobello mushrooms with roasted garlic in a red wine sauce; or the pepper-grilled ahi accompanied by wild mushroom-artichoke ragoût and Ligurian olives.
