THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Everest Express Restaurant Review:
The first Nepali restaurant in the area offers an interesting menu of subtly spiced and aromatic fare that results in dishes that are infused with flavor. No beef or pork is served, nor is cream or butter used in the preparation. Chicken, lamb, chick peas, rice and lentils are among the principal elements, and the spices---including ginger, garlic, cumin and a number of fresh herbs---give the dishes a distinctive touch. Two wonderful soups, lemon-sparked lentil and tomato-based vegetable, resonate with flavor. Other options include marinated lamb cooked in a tandoor; spiced lamb chops; boneless lamb cooked with onion, tomatoes, green peppers and chilies; a number of noodle dishes; and pan-fried chick peas with cumin seeds. The setting is a modest storefront, but chef-proprietor Pradip Poudel sends out handsome plates to tables nicely set with linen napkins. The house beverage is a soothing milk-and-spice-accented tea.
