Evo Wood-Fired Pizza Restaurant Review: Evo Wood-Fired Pizza is tucked away in the Park Circle neighborhood of North Charleston. Owners Ricky Hacker and Matt McIntosh take the concept of the traditional pizza joint and run with it. Artisanal pies include the pistachio pesto version that adds Split Creek Farm fromage blanc and crème fraîche to the mozzarella mix. The menu even showcases a vegan pizza made with red pepper purée and mushroom ragoût. Executive chef Blake McCormick sources locally farmed vegetables, and sauces and sausages are house-made. Enjoy a pizza and a brew from the lengthy, adventurous list on the large sidewalk seating area. There is a short but well-selected wine list, too. Sweeteeth handmade chocolate bars are Evo's signature dessert.
