This lively trattoria with its red brick walls, pizza oven, convivially close-set tables and a high decibel level, has been a happening haunt of locals and visitors alike since it opened. If you’re alone, you’ll enjoy grabbing a barstool and sampling appetizers like shrimp salad with chopped arugula, tomatoes and potatoes tossed with pesto, or a crusty rollina (smoked mozzarella and radicchio rolled in pizza crust with chopped tomatoes) from the pizza oven. There is often a wait for a table, where the pastas---agnolotti stuffed with spicy sea bass and broccoli, for example-are served in deep bowls with plenty of fresh Parmesan. We enjoy their roast chicken with white wine, rosemary, thyme and olive oil in garlic-porcini mushroom sauce, as well as the grilled lamb and veal chops. The bar offers 40 different types of martinis.
