| There’s one option per day on Farmhaus’ lunch menu at the cost of $10. It’s served at a speed that rivals fast food, but the appeal of bacon-wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes or fried chicken with mac ‘n’ cheese is miles above anything at the drive-through. Workers converge from offices, construction sites and schools for these stick-to-the-ribs meals. Dinner, however, is another story. The countrified ambience remains, but diners need to reserve well in advance to enjoy the fare. Chef Kevin Willmann’s artistry with everything from roast turkey to fried pig’s head has earned him a loyal following. When ordering small plates, at least one should include house-made charcuterie or cheeses. Also, be sure to save room for seasonal desserts---tarts, ice creams and cakes. There’s an extensive wine and beer list during dinner; at lunch, the meal deal includes only iced tea. |
