Farmstand 46 Restaurant Review: Though wineries abound on the westside of Paso Robles, places to eat are few and very far between, so it’s a good idea to stop here before heading out for a day of wine tasting. Get a hearty sandwich to go, gather up some picnic supplies, or just relax on the patio with a wood-fired pizza on the weekend (weather permitting, since the pizza oven and the only seating are outside). The farm-to-table concept means that some menu items are ever-changing, but daily specials like duck confit and bacon cassoulet are usually winners. Sandwiches include the meat-centric Il Profesore with salami and ham, the roasted veggie The Badger, and the Calamity Jane --- a respectable riff on banh mi. If you want a local vintage to enjoy with your dish, there’s a wine-tasting room right in back. |
