| “Feast”---an acronym for “fabulous eating at Sandy’s table”---does make its customers feel like pampered guests in a private home. The splendid red-brick townhouse, which once housed a physicians’ group with a roster of celebrated clients including Eleanor Roosevelt and Mickey Mantle, is now operated as a bed-and-breakfast inn. Dinner is served Thursdays through Saturdays, either in the gracefully proportioned dining room---painted a heavenly cerulean blue and adorned with marble fireplaces and French Empire touches---or on a pretty brick patio. However grand the setting, though, Feast’s spirit is friendly and welcoming, and Sandy Lawler’s cuisine is both internationally eclectic and locally sourced, with a choice between light fare (vegan pasta, Atlantic mussels Provençal) and heartier dinners (bison steak with wild mushrooms, rosemary-crusted free-range lamb rack). Bring your own wine. |
