The Field Restaurant Review: The Field evokes Ireland with its hearty, classic fare, fine ales and décor. It’s our favorite destination when there is a chill in the air, or better yet, when it's raining. Dark woods and the real-deal bar imported piece-by-piece from Ireland make it a genuine pub, as do the festive happy hours, broadcasted soccer matches and live Irish bands. All the requisite dishes are offered: corned beef and cabbage, shepherd's pie, beef stew and boxty --- potato pancake crêpes rolled around sage chicken, vegetables or rashers (Irish bacon) and cheese. We can't get enough of the thick potato-leek soup or the crisp (not greasy) fish ‘n’ chips. |
