As for why you’d want to go there, this long-running restaurant has drawn fans with its simple, carefully prepared menu and welcoming service. The food is good, not great, but it’s hard to resist the $49.95 dinner for two that includes a shared appetizer, a choice of entrées, a shared dessert and a bottle of drinkable wine. Pastas are a good choice, and you can’t go wrong with one of the fresh fish of the day. This restaurant is a popular with holders of tickets to performances at the Old Globe Theatre in nearby Balboa Park.
