THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fina European Bistro Restaurant Review: Initially focused on pizza and pasta at this restaurant, Fina’s owners, the French-born brothers Jalil (Jay) and Rheda (Ray) Chikhaoui, who gave Atlanta Social wine bar, have transferred their loyalties back to their native France. And wow, what a difference. Chef de cuisine Mameley (Leie) Mbaye, from Senegal, Africa, is classically trained and had a classic French restaurant in Peachtree City, Georgia, for more than a year. When it closed, he came to Fina. Dishing up the best snails we’ve ever eaten, he also does notable soups and has a good hand for cooking fish. His sea bass on butter sauce couldn’t be more French. Pizzas are no longer a focus, but there are a few still offered; in fact, this is the only place in town where you can get the French version, pissaladière, with anchovies and caramelized onions. Held over from the Italian effort is a classical lasagna, here made with béchamel sauce. The well-chosen wine list is short and well priced, packed with fine values. We like the Virginie La Grange Viognier, which goes for $27 a bottle. Most choices are under $30. Take MARTA; the station is right across the street from the restaurant.
