| Monique King and husband Paul Rosenbluh, both seasoned chefs, are behind Firefly Bistro, a South Pasadena favorite situated in an exclusively outdoor space. Rosenbluh has worked at Granita, Campanile and Joe's, and incorporates something from all of those experiences into his eclectic New American cuisine. Begin with spicy butternut squash “doughnuts” with curry dip, or red chili vegetable egg rolls with dried plum-ginger sauce. Entrées include pecan-crusted catfish, Moroccan-inspired duck and gnocchi with fresh vegetables. Linger over desserts like deep-dish blueberry pie and Mexican molten chocolate cake. The restaurant also offers an interesting, affordable wine list. |
