With its thatched awning, colorful nautical motif and granite-topped tables, this neighborhood fave is a bit more elaborate than the Baja taco stands it emulates. An umbrella-laden patio occupies what used to be a small parking lot. But in the spirit of a bona fide taco stand, the prices are low, service quick and the menu short-and-sweet: fish tacos, shrimp tacos, and drinks. (Look out for specials like the potato tacos.) You dress the tacos yourself at a rather comprehensive condiment bar that includes mango and pineapple salsas in addition to the requisite hot sauces, cabbage and crema (lime slices are often conspicuously absent). The lightly battered fish is nicely fried, providing a satisfying crunch, but wrapped in a mass-produced tortilla.
