THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Fisherman Restaurant Review: One of the durable and most popular walk-in-and-wait seafood restaurants along the Intracoastal Waterway, The Fisherman has gone beyond the basics. It has a lush garden of flowers growing outside large floor-to-ceiling windows. There is an outdoor seating area with ceiling fans for breezes. (Some seats have an angle view of the Intracoastal.) Food is consistently fresh and good, although the choices are Florida generic, from stuffed mushrooms and u-peel-um shrimp for appetizers, to shrimp, pasta, scampi, scrod, salmon and freshwater catfish as entrées. Scallops are also big draws as well as several seafood platter combinations. Other choices: baby-back ribs, chicken Granatella (chicken breasts stuffed with Fontina cheese and prosciutto, laced with a mushroom, lemon and basil butter). Dessert choices are limited. The early menu has the best prices and offers a number of tasty, quick fresh fish choices.
