THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fishnet Restaurant Review:
In the Shaw neighborhood adjacent to Howard University, this offbeat and eclectic fish-focused restaurant offers locals a decent alternative to the nearby fast-food eateries. Daily fresh fish includes Scottish salmon as well as wild bluefish served as a sandwich filling or gracing a mixed green salad. A choice of toppings are available, too: spicy aïoli, Turkish tartar, cucumber tarragon and horseradish rémoulade. When in season, tomato soup is a good way to start any meal. And if you are looking for something a little more ethnic or locally inspired, try the fish taco, crab cake sandwich or the vegan falafel sandwich. Dinnertime features small-plate specials of crispy Florida red snapper, pan-seared sea scallops or the Fishnet classics: lump crab cake, fish ‘n’ chips and a cheeseburger. Desserts include Moorenko’s ice creams and homemade tiramisu. Also located at 5010 Berwyn Rd., College Park, Maryland, 301-220-1070.
