No. Five-O Shore Road Restaurant Review: Gracious hospitality is a big part of the dining experience at No. Five-O Shore Road, where chef James Walter offers regional Italian cuisine. Owners Donato Tramuto and Jeffrey Porter extend European charm in this small but lively resort town as they mingle with guests, many of them regulars, in the sunny dining room. Start with little plates to share, like lamb polpetti with roasted tomato and eggplant, or artichoke arancini with whipped chèvre. Go on to escargots or perhaps steamed Maine mussels with melted leeks, white wine, garlic and tarragon. Gnocchi is a must, which for spring is composed with spicy house-made chicken sausage, oyster mushrooms and a Parmesan cream. Entrées include risotto al verdure, with arugula pesto, fava beans, hedgehog mushrooms and a fiddlehead tomme, or veal involtini, filled with Fontina and served atop roasted tomato polenta, with wilted baby spinach. End with panna cotta in whatever version is available. |
