| Five may have traded its cool, modern spot in The Grove for a larger venue in St. Louis’ Italian neighborhood, but the kitchen’s philosophy remains the same. Chef Anthony Devoti leads with quality ingredients and features an oft-changing menu, most of which is simply prepared, be it rabbit cacciatore with polenta or wild mushroom risotto. We recommend the lunchtime burgers or brisket, short ribs or lamb---topped with house-made ketchup and mustard. A four-course dinner menu includes an option of two glasses from a wine list of mostly European and American producers. If price is no object, explore the vintages on the cellar list. Desserts feature local ingredients and may include pecan cream or buttermilk flavored sherbet. |
