Flanigan's Restaurant Review:
Joseph “Big Daddy” Flanigan founded this family-friendly South Florida chain in 1985. The theme is deep-sea fishing with photos of Big Joe and his catches, saltwater aquariums and walls adorned with fishing nets, hooks and lures. This is the spot where $1.99 buys a pint of domestic draft beer and cocktail deals keep the place packed with partiers. Start with seafood gumbo or tumbleweed onion rings. Signature baby-back ribs are grilled, not barbecued, but good eating in full or half slabs. Overstuffed sandwiches, ten-ounce burgers, rib-eye steaks (beef or pork) and deep-fried shrimp are also popular. Save room for candy walnut apple pie with ice cream and caramel. Other locations.
