Not your everyday pizza parlor, Flatbread Community Oven offers Fontina fonduta and baked goat cheese to precede stone-fired pastas, sandwiches, salads, wood-fired pizzas and flatbreads. Though the offerings are tasty, it's the location and ambience that keep this joint packed with locals. Located mid-block downtown, the storefront setting is the perfect spot for people-watching. Seating is tight, but hearkens to the old-world style of Western Europe. Rustic mountain décor mixed with modern, earthy colors and warm lighting creates a good balance. Neapolitan-style pizzas are all certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana so authenticity is assured, but be sure to try the menu's other creative options, such as the Italian sausage, pepperoni and portobello pie.
