Flavor of India Restaurant Review: This Indian food outpost is tucked into a strip mall off I-270. Given it's actually below street level, it's a little hard to locate at first. Inside, the dining room is a soothing backdrop for the spicy food. Even naan, the most elemental part of an Indian meal, comes in a dozen flavorful varieties. A thorough buffet is offered during lunch and dinner, but if you’re not in a hurry, order from the lengthy menu of Mughlai and North Indian dishes. A particularly large selection of vegetarian choices, like potato and mushroom curry, is enough to intrigue even the carnivore. For dessert, we recommend the homemade ice creams. In search of a wine list? The good news is there are curry-friendly options like Gewürztraminer. The bad news? The by-the-glass choices are deeply mundane. The lunch clientele draws heavily from the nearby businesses and residential areas; at night, it’s much quieter and the pace more relaxed. |
