Flea Street Restaurant Review:

Proprietor Jesse Cool did local and sustainable long before it was, well, cool. Flea Street, named for the translation of Alameda de las Pulgas on which it is located, is the one semi-formal, sit-down eatery among Cool’s three Peninsula area spots. (The others are Cool Café at Stanford University and Menlo Business Park.) Start with the organic buttermilk biscuits made from Cool's family recipe, then move on to the house-smoked trout with flavors fresh from the campfire. Salads are very good, some featuring beets that would convert a non-beet eater. Mains span vegetarian, grass-fed meat and seafood dishes with a light hand. For dessert, you may find a plum hazelnut clafoutis with ginger crème fraîche sorbet. The interesting wine list features California wines exclusively, while classic cocktails are given a modern twist.
