Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar Restaurant Review: Fleming's décor includes wood and linen-topped tables in a large room --- a little noisy but also conveying a sense of space. This restaurant features Prime beef and a progressive wine program with more than 100 wines --- almost all domestic --- to sample. Steaks are seared at an extremely high temperature (1,600 degrees Fahrenheit) on gas broilers. Along with the entrées come vegetables served family-style including seven different potato preparations. Try the Fleming's potatoes with cream, jalapeños and cheddar. Beef Flemington is a filet wrapped in puff pastry with mushrooms duxelle and Madeira sauce. The menu also offers a few non-beef options: Australian lamb chops, pork chops and breast of chicken, salmon, lobster tails and steamed king crab legs. While portions may seem huge, Fleming's smartly offers "Small Platters" for the more restrained appetite; for example, filet mignon skewers served with Gorgonzola-bacon fondue, mozzarella and sweet tomato salad. Even the bar menu has treats, such as a Prime sirloin burger with cheese and bacon. |
