Flight picks up where its long-term predecessor, Dresner’s, left off. The latter was a favorite for burgers and the like for more than 50 years, but this bright gastropub bravely ventures into new food territory. Burgers will look familiar, but it’s really the chef’s love of Asian cuisine that distinguishes the watering hole. Try the mussels in a spicy chili sauce and you’ll see the difference. While some dishes haven’t quite found their rhythm, like the lamb and calamari, the spicier offerings suggest what’s to come as the kitchen refines the menu according to neighborhood tastes. A big plus is the enormous drinks selection that lists 16 craft brews that rotate on a weekly basis and 16 wines by the glass. Flights of food, whiskey, beer and wine support the restaurant’s name.
