THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Florida House Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Taking the quaint, homespun concept of a B&B one step further, the Florida House Restaurant, the dining room of Floridas oldest hotel, serves grandmas home cooking boarding-house style in heaping bowls that you pass around the table. And like grandmas kitchen, nobody is a stranger. Groups smaller than 12 will be seated with other guests at large wooden tables. There is no set menu. Rather, Southern-style dishes vary daily, but will include such pot-stickers as collards, field peas, fried chicken, ham, gizzards, and desserts like banana pudding and apple crumble. Located downtown, the restaurant is within walking distance of main street, but let your lunch settle first by rocking away a Florida afternoon in one of the quilt-cushioned wicker rockers on the porch.
