| This sunny, ladies' lunch café looks as out-of-place in St. Bernard Parish as a hula skirt in Anchorage. The typically gray suburban highway within sprinting distance of a major industrial park seems resolutely anti-contextual. Yet, there's hardly a bakery in New Orleans selling such pristine-looking pastries, and one bite reveals that the chef isn't merely concerned with looks. Individual coconut cream, crème brûlée and fruit tarts go down just a little too easily with a rich cup of New Orleans Coffee Roasters' coffee. Sandwiches and salads are good enough, but we recommend saving all available room for dessert. |
