Fly Restaurant Review:

Along the burgeoning corridor of Divisadero Street in the Western Addition, this corner spot is always noticeable because of the groups of trendy young things overflowing onto the sidewalk. Inside, the room is dark with red walls warmed by flickering votive candles and a mirrored mosaic. An alcove in the back boasts a lively pool table and wall-to-wall mural. Fly has successfully forged a restaurant and a bar, creating a smooth, chic spot to sip cocktails and mingle with friends. The Saké Breeze blends pineapple and cranberry juices with saké into a tart and sweet concoction. Other fruity options include both white and red sangría. The menu takes bar food up a few notches with innovative pizzas and sandwiches piled high with ingredients like chicken breast, bacon, provolone and sun-dried tomatoes. Shareable items include the tapenade-topped crostini or chicken satay with peanut dipping sauce. The ever-present soundtrack is made up of the newest imports, funky ambient and eclectic jazz. Also located at 1085 Sutter St., 415-441-4232.
