Fonda la Paloma is a local standby, a fun, casual place to get decent Mexican food and have a good night out. Over the decades, the restaurant has become known for its nachos, tortilla salads and particularly, its fajitas served on sizzling platters, from the flank steak version, a more tender cut than the usual skirt steak, to the shrimp fajitas sautéed with onions and peppers and served on soft tortillas with rice and beans. In addition, there are tortas, traditional Mexican sandwiches with jalapeño, avocado, refried beans, tomatoes, Mexican panela, cilantro mayonnaise and sour cream served on Mexican bread with pork, ham and cheese, and other fillings.
