THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fonz's Restaurant Restaurant Review:

Mike Dodd, Olympic silver medalist in beach volleyball at the 1996 Olympics, founded the restaurant in 1997 and named it for his father. Dodd's volleyball memorabilia permeates a place that reflects the laid-back casualness of the beach, but also offers a touch of elegance through cozy booths, tablecloths and upscale accents. Partner Dan Boehle has owned Fonz's since 2005, and he maintains a steak- and seafood-heavy menu. Seafood-centric starters range from caramelized sea scallops with fried leeks to seared ahi with Asian slaw, while entrées include grilled halibut with shaved almonds and Israeli couscous, as well as gingered mahi mahi. There’s also an 18-ounce Kansas City steak with jalapeño mac 'n' cheese, a braised pork chop, and the "silver fox" risotto with spinach, shrimp and mixed mushrooms. Among desserts, you'll find a brownie pie and apple pie. The primarily Californian wine list features a mix of large and boutique producers.
