THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fort Gansevoort Restaurant Review:
Fort Gansevoort is a three-floor art gallery in the Meatpacking District, set in the old 5 Ninth restaurant space. The owners installed a barbecue set-up in the back garden --- order around the corner on Little West 12th Street --- and it became the go-to spot on the westside for all things meaty. Expect flavorful pulled pork sandwiches made with a challah bun and with pickle slices to add a refreshing, tangy zest to the flavor, and equally good baby-back ribs that are fall-off-the-bone tender. This place puts the meat back in the Meatpacking District.
