Temple Court Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant & décor: A striking space in the gorgeous The Beekman hotel, Temple Court gets everything right. Service is unobtrusively correct and knowledgeable. Food presentations are meticulous. And the library-like room, satisfyingly comfortable and decorated with stained glass, wood paneling and antiques, fits perfectly into the landmark building. Do stop and take a look at the architectural details and artwork throughout --- it’s worth asking for the brochure which provides insight into the history of the Temple Court structure and the neighborhood.

Likes: Nostalgia fans will love the throwback menu and the beautiful bar.
Dislikes: None.

Food & Drinks: The menu is heavy on updated American classic dishes like Waldorf salad, pork Wellington, chicken fricassée served with delicata squash, steak Diane and baked Alaska. Indulgent appetizers also reflect the old and the new, such as oysters Rockefeller topped with watercress, spinach, fennel and bacon; or the more contemporary foie torchon tarted up with quince mostarda and cocoa nibs. Temple Court's version of ossobuco features monkfish with broccoli-like romanesco and an aromatic Vadouvan curry mix. In keeping with the old-and-new theme, cocktails mingle nostalgic favorites like the Rob Roy and Pink Lady with newer creations such as the Aperol Spritz and Tequila Sour. The 27-page wine list is extensive, offering ciders, beer and wines from around the world.
