Fox & Goose Public House Restaurant Review

: With its exposed brick, dark wood and vintage beer posters, Fox & Goose has kept the colonists in touch with their roots across the pond for nearly four decades. The interior is intimate and friendly, its former life as a glass company apparent in the ductwork and industrial lighting. While food is served all day, the draw here is the breakfast. The Benedict Arnold is a twist on the classic American dish, featuring tender, house-roasted corned beef and Welsh rarebit. Other must-haves include the ollalieberry scone or spongy crumpet, preferably topped with Devonshire cream or lemon curd. Those coming later in the day can indulge in the traditional fish ‘n’ chips, Cornish pasty or shepherd’s pie. For a sweet ending to your meal, try the English trifle, layered pound cake soaked in sherry with raspberry preserves and burnt cream custard. Of course, no visit to an English pub would be complete without a beer in hand, and more than a dozen varieties --- mostly from Great Britain --- are available on tap. Nightly entertainment includes live bands, trivia and open mic.
