| A natural for business dinners or after-work get-togethers, this place is also great for families. As a matter of fact, it looks and feels like an Italian family’s old-fashioned home (though a really huge one), with its large framed photos of Italian families from the 1930s-1950s. The two-level restaurant is always crowded and, while it’s noisy, it’s not too loud to carry on a conversation. The menu is relatively small, but the portions are huge. Items are served family-style and, even after the family has had second helpings, there’s usually some leftover to take home. Appetizers are good, but we usually skip right to the filling entrĂ©es. Meals begin with a big platter of chopped iceberg lettuce, avocado, tomatoes and green onions, topped with crumbled bacon and Gorgonzola cheese. Giant bowls of pasta come with sauces like the red one filled with chunks of Italian sausage, onions and two meatballs the size of baseballs. We also love the linguine with red clam sauce, chopped fresh tomatoes, garlic and basil. You can also order steaks, chicken dishes veal and seafood entrĂ©es. Desserts? Who has room? |
