This Upper West Side eatery exudes the warmth of a neighborhood trattoria. A wood burning oven overlaid with black mosaic tiles at the entrance to the restaurant is the site of bustling pizza-making activity while hungry locals peruse the chalkboard menu hanging in the casual dining area. The menu is diverse with a twenty-first-century health-conscious sensibility. Icons next to a menu item denote whether or not it is vegetarian and weight watcher worthy, while calorie comparison listings show diners which selections are healthiest. Appetizers emphasize the fresh buffalo mozzarella as do the pizzas ranging from the classic margherita to a pie with buffalo cream, ham and mushrooms.
