THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fratelli Restaurant Review: Fratelli serves authentic, seasonal Italian cuisine in a long, narrow room with rustic oak tables bathed in the flattering glow of candles, which makes everything feel far removed from its urban setting. Service is relaxed, allowing one to linger and savor a menu that executes subtle turns on Italian regional fare. Many of the fresh organic ingredients come from the owner's own garden. Some dishes, such as the Pecorino and honey appetizer, are rarely seen outside Italy; we also like the creative salads, such as the winter offering of chard with blood oranges and speck; salumi and cheese plates; risotto Milanese with clams; and house-made pappardelle with wild boar. If you're in the mood, order one of the personal pizzas from the wood-fired oven. Homemade gelato is a good choice for dessert. A full bar offers libations to please all tastes, but your best bet is to select from the extensive list of Italian wines.
