| Fratelli has always been ideal for celebrating a special occasion or a long-awaited date night. The addition of the adjoining bar has made it more of a well-rounded place, and just as appropriate for a shopping break for cocktails and light meals as it is for a ladies’ lunch or girls' (or guys') night out. The restaurant proper inhabits a long, narrow room with sturdy wooden tables bathed in a flattering glow of candles. Fratelli's menu executes subtle turns on Italian regional dishes, and utilizes fresh organic ingredients, many from the owner’s own garden. Specials range from duck breast served with beets and porcini mushrooms to a thick pork chop with fried chickpea, arugula and peach coulis. Order a crispy pizza from the wood-fired oven, or a make-your-own antipasti plate. Some dishes, such as the lasagna with beef, pork and béchamel sauce, have become house favorites and menu mainstays. Service is casual and laid-back Northwest-style, while a full bar offers libations to please all tastes. |
