 Set inside a chateau-like building which stands adjacent to art galleries and coffeehouses, this Laguna Beach venue utilizes its enviable location along Pacific Coast Highway to create a space that contains plenty of classic romantic charm. The fin de siècle setting is replete with Art Deco lighting, vintage photos, intimate dining rooms and a covered patio with a fireplace. Start the night with a Champagne cocktail or a martini in the inviting bar. Retreat to your table and dive into a refreshing heirloom beet and goat cheese salad or an organic mixed vegetable “Jardinière.” Admirers of French cuisine will want to continue the meal by selecting from the menu’s solid interpretations of bistro fare like Prime beef tenderloin Wellington, roasted duck breast and coq au vin. Those looking to venture away from the bistro milieu should explore “off the grill” dishes, which feature nine different cuts of meat and fish to pair with a quartet of sauces ranging from spicy tomato to a red wine bordelaise.
