THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED French Hound Brasserie Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant & décor: Unexpected French elegance sets the scene at this Leesburg restaurant, a transfer from a smaller location in Middleburg. The expansive site incorporates several dining sections plus an outdoor terrace with umbrellas, all of which indicate an upcoming gastronomic splurge. That is thanks to the skills of owner/chef John-Gustin Birkitt.

Likes: Food and setting.
Dislikes: Sometimes slow service.

Food & Drinks: Birkitt spent time working in French-inspired kitchens elsewhere and makes use of that culinary knowledge to transform classic French fare into appealing Americanized fare, from a brunchtime Belgian waffle and hearty lunch dishes such as the grilled merguez lamb sausage sandwich with caramelized onion, to the pizzas and lobster risotto with peas, and for dinner, steak frites, grilled flat-iron pork and duck breast with gnocchi. Desserts are a must, particularly the delicate apple beignets. Ask the staff about wine pairings and cocktail recommendations.
