THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Frite Shop Restaurant Review:
This is the first Belgian french fry shop to open in Philadelphia, with the hope of duplicating the trend of fry shops that have swept through New York City. The fries are great---not too thick or thin and nicely browned---and there are numerous accompanying sauces to choose from: aïoli, Dijon mayonnaise, curry, rémoulade and malt vinegar to name a few. However, if you prefer your fries the old-fashioned way, the catsup bottles are standing by. Presented in a paper cone with a small wooden fork, it makes for a filling snack while strolling along South Street.
