Fuego Cocina y Tequileria Restaurant Review: Jeff Tunks and crew have done it again, establishing a restaurant with a flair for presentation, attentive service and robustly seasoned fare --- almost authentically Mexican with a Southern California kick. It’s a certainty that you and your friends will go through a basket or two of freshly made chips and the guacamole dip and the ceviche. And then comes dinner, and the choices are so numerous you will need several trips to enjoy all the aspects of the menu --- think carnitas, fried chunks of well-seasoned pork; and chicken in mole poblano. The line-up also tantalizes with assorted taco choices, from braised tongue to roasted goat (shredded, of course), and pozole with pork in a green sauce. Desserts range from a tres leches cake to a fresh lime tart and sopaipillas. Lunchtime features tacos and tortas. Beverages include beers and wines, plus an extensive list of unusual tequilas.
