The Full Moon likes to call itself “The Best Little Pork House in Alabama.” Not that we’re arguing, but it’s the zingy sauce and crunchy, peppery chow-chow that sets this barbecue haven apart from the others whether you choose pork or poultry. Try Full Moon's rib sandwich, available in three sizes, from one to three ribs. The one-bone makes a good snack, but heartier appetites could go for the plate with a pair of sides. Smoked pork, ribs, turkey and brisket (from Black Angus) are options to consider. Collard greens and mac 'n' cheese are hearty and comforting. The fried green tomatoes are not to be missed, as long as you eat them while they’re hot. All desserts are made in-house, including the carrot cake and the pies. Grab a half-moon cookie (or six), dipped in chocolate, before you go. Beer is available.
